Pemakaman Pertama Korban Penembakan Massal di AS Berlangsung

Pemakaman pertama dilangsungkan untuk dua anak korban penembakan massal di Connecticut.
Keluarga-keluarga yang berduka memakamkan dua korban penembakan membabi-buta pekan lalu di sekolah dasar di timur laut Amerika.

Dua anak laki-laki berusia enam tahun dimakamkan Senin (17/12), salah satunya adalah seorang anak yang adik kembarnya selamat dari pembantaian.

Sementara itu, Sekolah Dasar Sandy Hook di Newtown, Connecticut, tempat terjadinya penembakan diliburkan. Tidak jelas kapan atau apakah sekolah itu akan dibuka kembali. Sekolah-sekolah lain di negara bagian Connecticut dibuka kembali Senin dengan keamanan yang diperketat.

Polisi mengatakan pihak berwenang masih memeriksa bukti-bukti dan menanyai para saksi mata.

Pada dua makam pertama tersebut, pelayat menempatkan boneka beruang, bunga dan kertas berbentuk malaikat di luar rumah duka. Pemakaman lain direncanakan minggu ini.

Sebanyak 20 anak dan enam orang dewasa tewas dalam penembakan di sekolah di kota kecil itu. Pihak berwenang mengatakan penembak, Adam Lanza, yang berusia 20an tahun, menembak diri sendiri ketika polisi mendekati sekolah tersebut.

Ia diyakini telah menembak ibunya di rumah terlebih dahulu sebelum kemudian membawa senjata ibunya ke sekolah di mana ia memecahkan jendela untuk masuk.
